The Nook Cafe

The Nook Cafe

The Maginhawa Street in Quezon City is a haven for food lovers. It is really popular because you’ll see a lot of food establishments from left to right along this busy street. The good thing is there’s really a lot to choose from. I think a day is not enough for you to try all of them. You’ll go crazy choosing where to start and what to try first. Fret not! Because I am sharing a wonderful place to pig out while having fun. Do you love Harry Potter series? Then, you’ll love this place – The Nook Cafe. πŸ™‚

The Nook Cafe

The Nook Cafe

The Nook Cafe is unique in a way that it incorporates some Harry Potter elements into their small but cozy cafe. It magically pulls you into a world of nostalgia and enchanting memories of teenage addiction to the world of witchcraft and wizardry. Getting here isn’t really that hard as it is located at 164 A Maginhawa Street, Sikatuna Village.

Small But Cozy

When I stepped in, I didn’t think that the place is small. I think it can cater for around 10 to 15 persons only. On the second floor, you’ll see more of Harry Potter books and other non-fictional stuff. They also have board games that you can borrow to level up your dining experience.

Costumes For Rent

One of the most amazing experiences here is to make yourself an instant Hogwarts student. Something that we’ve all dreamed of someday became reality in a short while. Just present your ID to rent the costumes and wands. Isn’t that cool?! πŸ™‚

The Food And The Intriguing Butter Beer

Okay, so all of us have been waiting for the food. This is going to be the main event and we were excited to try them out. For starters, they offer coffee beverages, pastries, finger food & pasta. Not a heavy meal you think but, the serving may take your tummy full.

The Nook Cafe

Nook Overload – 220

Sausage on a bun topped with loads of fries, ketchup, and cheese. A truly overloaded meal because the sausage is extra in size. I must-buy especially if you love fries!

The Nook Cafe

Bacon Wrapped Chicken – 160

As the name suggests, it is a chicken fillet wrapped in crispy bacon with honey. One of their best-sellers. The taste was beyond my expectation. I can say that this is my personal favorite. πŸ™‚

The Nook Cafe

Cheese Potato Fries – 110

Thick-cut fried sweet potatoes drizzled with parmesan cheese and cheese sauce. A somewhat complex combination that resulted to a unique blend of sweet & salty taste.

The Nook Cafe

Spicy Spanish Sardines Pasta – 150

One of their best-sellers in the pasta section. I am a fan of Spanish sardines and have tasted a few pasta dishes with this delicacy. Indeed, it tastes great. The spiciness is tolerable and the saltiness of the sardines goes well with other food that we ordered.

The Nook Cafe

Butterbeer – Harry’s 100 | Hagrid’s 150

The most interesting of them all. It is a non-alcoholic beverage and is a perfect combination to whatever you would eat. It is simply a butterscotch drink with a mild sweetness inspired by J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world.

Final Words

It was indeed a wonderful experience. The unique experience is all worth it. We’ve been planning to visit here a long time ago, and finally, we’re here! I’ll definitely go back to this place soon and invite another circle of friends. The butterbeer is just awesome and a must-try. I just hope that they’ll get a more spacious place because it’s hard when you have a lot of customers and the place becomes constricted and noisy if the other table is not considerate enough. But, overall, thumbs up!

Before from the South, Maginhawa is a long drive from home so I’ve never been. πŸ™ I keep making plans with my friends but it never pushes through. Haha. Nook Cafe is one of the places I want to visit the most tho. Maybe soon!

      *Being, not before hahaha.

Hahaha, it’s okay. I think it won’t be a long drive if you go early on Sunday. Give pressure to your friends so that you can go finally LOL πŸ™‚ Let me know what butterbeer tastes like to you. πŸ™‚

I have always wanted to try Nook but it’s ALWAYS crowded! It’s so nice that you were able to get the place to yourselves!!! Kaiinggit!

    • Andi

We went 12 noon Sunday where it is expected to be crowded already. But LUCKILY there were no people. The crowd started to get in when we were halfway eating our meal. So, we enjoyed all the photoshoot with no photobombers. I hope one day, when you visit, it will all be yours too. πŸ™‚ . PS,… the food were all great πŸ™‚

Are you a Slytherin or a Hufflepuff? Someone should be sorted out by the sorting hat. Hahaha! This the best post of yours so far (for me) because it’s ~Harry Potter~. Plus, the books and the food. Ah, perfection! <3

Btw, I'm half Slytherin and half Ravenclaw. A slytherclaw. Based on the Potter quiz I took before. πŸ™‚

    • Andi

Unfortunately, there is no sorting hat hahaha.

Wow! Thank you for appreciating it. I am sure you’d like here because of the books but I didn’t you are a fan πŸ™‚ . Actually, the food here taste really great, you must try especially the butterbeer.

Anyway, according to the quiz I took long ago, I am Ravenclaw. So, it is safe to say that we are somewhat alike. πŸ™‚

I had my first set of Harry Potter books (Books 1-4) when I was in grade 1 which my mom bought for me along with the encyclopedias and the set of ‘I Wonder Why’ books. I used to play pretend that I’m a witch and used the HP books as my books of potions because that’s how I saw it on movies and cartoons but never knew that the book was also of the same thing. I only read the books because my mom finished reading them. So it was sort of a competition for the both of us and reading it was one of the best things I’ve ever done when I was a kid. Hehe. πŸ™‚

I hate my English teacher when I was in 3rd year in HS because she didn’t return my 3rd book of HP. So I only have 3 books left. πŸ™

    • Andi

Wow, Grade 1!!! Time flies so fast. I was in high school when harry potter was released but I didn’t have the books because I’m not into books, honestly. But I was the same as you when I was a kid. My friend and I were both pretending to be wizards and playing some stuff like I can control the wind and water. LOL .

Why not but the whole set of books again for collection? I love my English teacher because usually for Literature/English subject, we would study Greek and Roman mythology. But she proposed Harry Potter books as part of our lesson plan so my 3rd-year high school life was filled with magic. πŸ™‚
