Magdalena White Water Rafting
Summer is fast approaching and people are getting ready for their beach-body. Of course, there are those who don’t care about their body. Like me, I already accepted that I can’t have a nice body figure to flaunt because I’m lazy going to the gym and I’d prefer to eat or play computer games instead. Being bitter aside, it’s really exciting to look forward to going places this summer. So, while everyone is planning their vacation lineup, I guess, it’s nice to suggest one that I’ve been to last year (2016). This is kind of a late post because it happened in April before I began publishing my blog. So, please forgive me as the photos may not look very stunning to your eyes. You must try the Magdalena White Water Rafting adventure if you plan to do exciting water activities this year.
Magdalena White Water Rafting
The Magdalena White Water Rafting adventure is considered to be for beginners. Yes, it is really perfect for those first-timers because of its calmer rapids than the ones in Cagayan De Oro. So, if you are like me who doesn’t know how to swim, this will make you feel safe.
Going to Magdalena, Laguna is just a 3-hour ride when you ride a bus from Cubao Bus terminals and then a 10-15 minutes tricycle ride going to Magdalena town proper.
We availed the Magdalena White Water Rafting adventure for Php 900 per head that includes transportation to and from the river, tour guide, and safety gears like the helmet and life vest. Water rafting also includes cliff-diving and water tubing at the end of the course.
Once you arrived in the briefing area, you will sign a waiver and a friendly staff will conduct a 15-minute orientation showcasing the adventure itself and some important reminders during the actual activity. So, make sure to follow the rules to avoid major accidents. Lastly, have fun! 🙂
The entire course will take approximately 2 hours including the cliff-diving and water tubing at the end. Get yourself prepared and geared to enjoy the exciting activity. It was very hot when we went there. So, make sure you also bring sun protection and a waterproof camera to capture every moment without worrying about the water splashing.
Okay, this is where I will back out. I don’t know how to swim and I am really afraid of waters. I am panicking the moment I feel my ears and nose are submerged underwater and the moment my feet don’t feel any solid ground to step on. So, even if I have life vest or floatation device, I still won’t brave this diving stuff. But it doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the adventure just because you didn’t do this course. For most adventurist, this is just nothing but a 15-meter deep fun diving. 🙂
This is actually what I am looking forward to at the end of the course. Sliding is so much fun! 🙂 You will notice a lot of residents and tourist enjoying the place. But don’t worry, they are nice and will assist you in the tubing. Keep in mind that the rapids are quite strong and the surface is slippery. You don’t want yourself get injured while having fun.
Definitely, two thumbs up! I really enjoyed it. As a first-timer, I thought I can’t make it because I’m afraid to fall out of the raft. But, you really won’t because as a team, you have to paddle and balance everything for a perfect run. The only thing I skipped is the cliff diving. Well, that’s life, I’m afraid. But you will have fun if this is something that you enjoy. There are shower rooms and small cottages you can rent if you want to stay and rest while enjoying the scenery with food. I want to experience this again. If I go back, I’ll have a version 2 of this blog post. Should I include video? Well, I’ll have to buy my GoPro, LOL. 🙂 . What’s your summer vacation plan?
