Magdalena White Water Rafting

Magdalena White Water Rafting

Summer is fast approaching and people are getting ready for their beach-body. Of course, there are those who don’t care about their body. Like me, I already accepted that I can’t have a nice body figure to flaunt because I’m lazy going to the gym and I’d prefer to eat or play computer games instead. Being bitter aside, it’s really exciting to look forward to going places this summer. So, while everyone is planning their vacation lineup, I guess, it’s nice to suggest one that I’ve been to last year (2016). This is kind of a late post because it happened in April before I began publishing my blog. So, please forgive me as the photos may not look very stunning to your eyes. You must try the Magdalena White Water Rafting adventure if you plan to do exciting water activities this year.

Magdalena White Water Rafting

The Magdalena White Water Rafting adventure is considered to be for beginners. Yes, it is really perfect for those first-timers because of its calmer rapids than the ones in Cagayan De Oro. So, if you are like me who doesn’t know how to swim, this will make you feel safe.

Going to Magdalena, Laguna is just a 3-hour ride when you ride a bus from Cubao Bus terminals and then a 10-15 minutes tricycle ride going to Magdalena town proper.

The Package

We availed the Magdalena White Water Rafting adventure for Php 900 per head that includes transportation to and from the river, tour guide, and safety gears like the helmet and life vest. Water rafting also includes cliff-diving and water tubing at the end of the course.

Once you arrived in the briefing area, you will sign a waiver and a friendly staff will conduct a 15-minute orientation showcasing the adventure itself and some important reminders during the actual activity. So, make sure to follow the rules to avoid major accidents. Lastly, have fun! πŸ™‚

Two-hour Course

The entire course will take approximately 2 hours including the cliff-diving and water tubing at the end. Get yourself prepared and geared to enjoy the exciting activity. It was very hot when we went there. So, make sure you also bring sun protection and a waterproof camera to capture every moment without worrying about the water splashing.

Cliff Diving

Okay, this is where I will back out. I don’t know how to swim and I am really afraid of waters. I am panicking the moment I feel my ears and nose are submerged underwater and the moment my feet don’t feel any solid ground to step on. So, even if I have life vest or floatation device, I still won’t brave this diving stuff. But it doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the adventure just because you didn’t do this course. For most adventurist, this is just nothing but a 15-meter deep fun diving. πŸ™‚

Water Tubing

This is actually what I am looking forward to at the end of the course. Sliding is so much fun! πŸ™‚ You will notice a lot of residents and tourist enjoying the place. But don’t worry, they are nice and will assist you in the tubing. Keep in mind that the rapids are quite strong and the surface is slippery. You don’t want yourself get injured while having fun.

Final Words

Definitely, two thumbs up! I really enjoyed it. As a first-timer, I thought I can’t make it because I’m afraid to fall out of the raft. But, you really won’t because as a team, you have to paddle and balance everything for a perfect run. The only thing I skipped is the cliff diving. Well, that’s life, I’m afraid. But you will have fun if this is something that you enjoy. There are shower rooms and small cottages you can rent if you want to stay and rest while enjoying the scenery with food. I want to experience this again. If I go back, I’ll have a version 2 of this blog post. Should I include video? Well, I’ll have to buy my GoPro, LOL. πŸ™‚ . What’s your summer vacation plan? Hey Andi, Nice post! You guys look great in your rafting outfits! Your post reminded me of my 16 rapid river rafting in Rishikesh in India earlier in the year! It was so much fun! Water was cold and I fell in the chilling Ganges twice (the great fall) but when i look back I do blame my friends but then it was so much fun!
Thanks for reminding me of good old days with this blog post!

I’m afraid of falling off, luckily I didn’t fall. But in your case, at least you’ve had a lot of fun and nice memories that you can reminisce once in a while. You are welcome πŸ™‚

This looks so fun. The white water rafting looks great but the tubing seems like it would even be more fun. Thanks for this cool tip.

Good for you! Rafting is really fun and exciting but the cliff diving is a big no for me. But of course, I’m sure you’ll enjoy if you’d really want to.

  16. Alyssa Molina

Definitely adding this place to my bucket list! It looks really fun, and I hope it’s worth the money you pay it for.
Your pics are lovely BTW, and the weather was perfect too! You must’ve really enjoyed, huh? πŸ™‚

It is all worth it Alyssa. You must visit soon and I am sure you will enjoy this too. πŸ™‚ You just have to bring sun block and an action cam to level up taking memories with videos or photos. We didn’t have an action cam here. Very sad that we were not able to take stunning videos of our adventure. ahaha πŸ™‚

  17. Loi

It looks so much fun!! I don’t know how to swim either. I mean, like go deep. Nah. Just some basics. But I really want to try cliff diving! The water tubing looks so fun too! Hihi.

At least you know some basics. Unlike me, I’ll just panic everywhere hahaha. They have 2 spots for cliff diving. One 15 ft. deep and the other is 22 ft. deep. Unli dive πŸ™‚ Then play like a kid via water tubing. So fun. πŸ™‚

  18. Kai

Looks like you had so much fun, Andi! I haven’t explored much in our country. I wanna try this amazing spot in the future. Bookmarked this for future references πŸ™‚

It was really fun, Kai! πŸ™‚ I’m basically afraid of water due to trauma caused by drowning. But this is actually safe just in case you have a similar fear like mine. You should put this in your bucket list of future escapades. I am sure you’ll have great experience. πŸ™‚
